Mr.M.Arumugam have born in Pungudu Island in 1914. He is credited as first pandit in Pungudu Island. He was working as teacher and chancellor and produce many scholars. He is the best orator; writer; professional musician; poet. Since he is interested in music and traditional life of tamilians, he collected Ceylon folk songs since 1936. He kept more than 30000 folk songs as his property. He consider folk songs as a mirror that reflects tamilian culture and fine arts. Mrs. Tamilarasi Sivapadhasundharam has been writing with her pseudonym Salini since her childhood. She is writing with various pennames about traditional tamil, Ceylon history, religion, humanity, music, and play. She is a journalist as well as a media person. She has penned a book named Thirukkuralil kelviyaal oru velvi’.She was the editor of the magazine Aambal which was published from London. She shares traditional tamil literature in radio.
